Strung Out-Agents of the Underground

Melodic punk and metal can be an odd combination. Not many bands attempt the sound, possibly due to the fact that its such an out there endeavor, but it can also make for some great music. Strung Out have been teetering the lines between melodic punk and metal for some time, with mixed results (usually on the better side). With Agents of the Underground, Strung Out have gone with a more technical melodic punk route, more along the lines of Twisted by Design, and the results are incredibly positive.

Always so full of musical talent, Strung Out finally seem to have found the perfect balance between showing off their skills and keeping things memorable. These songs feature a mile a minute guitar noodling, all over the place drumming and one of the best vocal performances of Jason Cruz' career. Everything is incredibly catchy, giving it the ability to last in the mind of the listener; something their previous albums were slightly lacking. They have gone back to their roots, added some extra talent, and wrote an album that their fans will still be drooling over long down the road.
