Neuraxis-Asylon
Prosthetic

Something happened during the growing up process, and I’m finding myself not liking metal as much as I used to. If given a choice, I’d go with something much lighter. I’m not sure if its my ears screaming for a break or just age, but metal doesn’t have the same luster that it once did for me.

That being said, Neuraxis have written a pretty solid metal album. Its more heavy than technical, which I highly appreciate. There are still some very technical parts, especially in the drumming, along with some great guitar lines (there’s one in “By the Flesh” I love), but they don’t shove their talent down the listener’s throat. This isn’t metallic hardcore by any means, but there’s more slower parts and breakdowns than a lot of other metal bands have, which could open the ears of those fans. But, don’t worry; there’s plenty of blast for those that can’t get enough.

Neuraxis have written a pretty good metal album here, which will appease to both death metal fans and people into Earth Crisis (while the styles are different, I see a resemblance and their fans could appreciate this). While I may not be pulling this off the shelf as much I would have a few years ago, I still enjoy listening to it.
