Black President

I can't listen to Black President without thinking of all the Los Angeles punk bands that came before them. They take the anger and intensity (though a case could be made that most punk bands are intense) of Black Flag, the snarl of The Germs and the accessability and infectous melodies of Bad Religion. I also hear a Pennywise influence. These songs are fast, urgant, to the point and pissed off. Black President aren't doing anything more than paying a fitting homage to their forefathers, and they do a fine job of it.
