Ceremony-Still Nothing Moves You
Bridge 9
August 5, 2008
This is a band that is completely pissed off at the world. The vocals of Ross Farrar are as angry as they come, almost sounding like Choke if he had just watched his beloved puppy get run over by a car by his worst enemy. There is plenty of urgency to the music, driven by the drumming of Jake Cazarotti, who uses tempo changes and heavy hitting to his advantage, and he isn't afraid to throw in some fills to keep things interesting.
These songs are short (for the most part) bursts of energy, similar to a passing, yet dangerous, thunderstorm. Everything breezes by heavily and angrily, leaving a wake of destruction in its path. The destruction that Ceremony leaves behind is in the wake of its fans, who won't be able to stop the moshing while listening to this album. Movement is everything, and Ceremony bring the movement like few others.
