Chad Price-Smile Sweet Face
Suburban Home
October 20, 2009

I'm still trying to figure out when punk rock became the new wave of folk, but I am embracing it. Chad Price is the newest punk rocker turned singer/songwriter, and Smile Sweet Face has an insane ability to bring a tear to your eye with his thoughtful songwriting an melancholy vocals. Everything is down in the gutter, with single picked notes adding some extra depth to the chord progressions, giving the music a feeling of sadness that is echoed by his voice; his lovely, tearjerking voice. There is a very sincere tone to his vocals as he puts a ton of feeling into each word he sings.

Fans of Drag the River will be salivating over this release, as it (obviously) sounds very similar to the songs Price sings. This is just him and a guitar, however (with some extra instruments added at times for mood purposes), tearing at the heartstrings and writing a very sincere and beautiful record.
