Cold World-Dedicated to Babies Who Came Feet First
Deathwish
July 22, 2008
Cold World are an interesting breed of a hardcore band. They sound tough enough to have a dangerous pit, and they aren't afraid to show their hip hop roots and/or enjoyment. The riffs are heavy as all hell, full of cuffing and hard ass rock. The vocals mix between a yelling and an almost singing, but a harsh one. There are breakdowns, but most of the music will get people moving. So far, sounds like your basic (not quite) tough guy hardcore band. What sets them apart is that they throw some hip hop in there, up to and including samples, basslines, drum beats and some actual rapping here and there. Not being a huge fan of hip hop, I was a bit cautious during my first listen, but it has sense grown on me, breaking the album up nicely and throwing in some elements that not many other bands are doing at this current time.
