Crime in Stereo-Selective Wreckage
Bridge 9
October 14, 2008
Its odd: the more I think about Crime in Stereo, the more I feel that their best days are behind them. Explosives and the Will to Use Them was such a great album (I know its their first, but I really enjoy it), and while I've enjoyed their work post Explosives..., everything since has left me with a somewhat empty feeling. Because of that, its really hard for me to get super excited about an album that is essentially B Sides. Thats not to say that there aren't great songs on here, as "Desertbed" and "Love" are up there as some of their best work to date, but I'm not excited about the album as a whole. Crime in Stereo have a nice brand of melodic hardcore, but there are bands out there that do it better. They are a band worthy of mention and listens, one that deserves to be in the conversation when talking about their peers. This is an album, ten songs in just over 23 minutes, that would serve well for the die hard fans.
