MC Lars and YT Cracker-Digital Gangster
Nerdy South Records
November 24, 2008

White boy hip hop is all the rage right now, for better or worse. Atmosphere, Sage Francis, N.A.S.A. and MC Lars are artists that I never thought I would find myself listening to even three years ago, but here I am with albums from all previously mentioned artists in my collection and reviewing an MC Lars and YT Cracker album.

I've never heard of YT Cracker or any of the other guests on this album, and there are some real duds on here ("911" is one of the worst songs I've heard in a long time), but Digital Gangster is full of clever rhymes and catchy rhythms, though it doesn't seem as entertaining as The Graduate. "We Have Arrived" is the best song he's been a part of, and there are some songs that are close to par with that entertainment value.

The pop culture references and fun attitude, my two favorite aspects of his material, is full swing on Digital Gangster, making this a happy escape. Its not his best work, but its more than worth a listen.
