The Friday Night Boys-Off The Deep End
Fueled by Ramen
June 9, 2009

This reminds me of an emo version of The Ataris. There's something about the song structures that whisper The Ataris in my ear. I don't know if anyone else can hear the comparison, but I can't get it out of my head. Whether or not thats a good thing lies in the ear of the listener.

The Friday Night Boys toe the fine line between modern emo and overly pop punk; though some could argue that those are one in the same. The vocals contain enough sugar to keep a three year old up for days, and the music flows along for fans to mindlessly get lost and sing along. They're geared towards teenagers and a Top 40 crowd, but they do a decent job of it. They don't hide under anything they're not, instead writing songs that are easy to listen to and will get stuck in people's heads, for better or worse. This band probably won't be around in five years, but they'll be enjoying some success in the present.
