Gangpol & Mit-The 1000 Softcore Tourist People Club
Ipecac
March 29, 2011

This is something that almost needs to be heard to be believed. There are no simple descriptions for Gangpol & Mit, and the written word won’t help you grasp what you’re ears are about to hear. I’ll try my best though.

Gangpol & Mit sounds like you were sucked through your television screen into one of the most insane video games out there. There are all sorts of levels, like the dangerous whorehouse in “Otsuki Sama” or the fairy castle world of “The Enemy I Never Met.” “Browse at Night” makes you feel like you are walking on the tippiest of your toes past a sleeping dragon, with the built up tension making you fear a wrong move. There is such an array of sounds going on in each song that your imagination will be running wild. I can imagine each song bringing about different images in each individual person’s head, which I why I’m so enthralled with this album. Its so out there and so crazy that you can’t help but want to listen to it to see exactly where your imagination will take you. I only gave three examples, but every song is like that.

I’m not sure what the staying power of an album like this will be, but it’s a real fun listen for the time being. People that live in the present or enjoy taking drugs while listening to music should rush to hear the craziness Gangpol & Mit are creating.
