The Swellers-Good for Me
Fueled by Ramen
June 14, 2011
Anyone that likes summer and pop punk songs should be salivating at Good for Me, an album that is as sunshiny as a California postcard. Everything is polished and squeaky clean, full of memorable vocal lines and flat out fun songs.
The Swellers don’t even reinvent a little bit of the wheel. They stick with the mid tempo (and sometimes fast tempo) melodic pop punk songs that have been easing people’s ears for so long now. They have plenty of songs ready to take over the radio, and the chops for widespread appeal. The songs all have a real fun atmosphere to them. They also have enough punk style to make them far from a guilty pleasure for most people. The Swellers are legit.
Good for Me reminds me of a day at an amusement park. It’s a blast and there’s a lot going on, and the smile rarely leaves my face. This is your new poolside soundtrack.
