Living With Lions-Holy Shit

People love a good scandel, and Living With Lions sure got one with their album title, which you can read about here and here. While that no doubt sparked some interest in the band, the question becomes whether they're worthy of people's time, and the answer is yes. People checking them out for the first time after reading the story will be pleasantly suprised to find a modic pop punk band that is more than meets the sugary eye.

Living With Lions take influence from both newer bands that are bringing people to see live music and the older, now broken up bands that inspired them (and ended up being much less successful). I hear as much Lifetime as I do Four Year Strong, with them finding the happy medium between both. They have a good amount of fast songs that contrast well with the slower and catchier songs. The vocals are the key to Living With Lions' success, and Chase Brennemanhas a voice good enough to get people singing along to the hooks that are laved throughout this album.

Holy Shit far exceeded my expectations. This is a start to finish solid album that I don't see myself getting sick of anytime soon. Give these nine songs a listen. I'll be surprised if you're not singing along right away, whether you know the words or not.
