The (International) Noise Conspiracy-The Curse of My Calling
Vagrant
November 25, 2008

It seems to me like The (International) Noise Conspiracy are heading more into the territory of melodic rock, driving out of the garage that they once were occupying (which is fine by me). These songs are driving and catchy, good enough to make a splash but not written for any genre specified mainstream. This is strong and moral songwriting, not worrying about money or marketing or anything.

These guys throw a little bit of everything into the mix, making a brew that would have witches twitching in jealousy, especially with the secret ingredient of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, who brings something special to the table with his clean voice and catchy phrasing. Soul, funk, jam, punk; the list continues and The (International) Noise Conspiracy excel at combining all of them together without exploring overkill territory.

This is a very even and enjoyable album. The songs are memorable and the musicians are full of talent. These guys have really grown under the wing of Rick Rubin, and they will hopefully become a breath of fresh air for music.
