Dripping Slits-Short Skirts & Long Nights
Thinker Thought Records
April 12, 2011

I fell for this band nearly instantly. “Foreplay,” the instrumental opener got me interested with its catchy yet riff that is a precursor of things to come. It gives the listener a sense that the music is going to be dirty and that this is just the calm before the storm rips you apart. The ripping apart takes starts with “Mischief” and doesn’t stop until the last seconds of “Bastard Son.” I love every second of it.

Dripping Slits play dirty rock and roll with a punk influence. They have great rock riffs that they combine with a pissed off attitude. The music is straightforward (emphasizing on the great riffs that they wrote) and hits like a punch to the face. Everything is driving and edgy, basic yet energetic. The vocals are yelled, but they’re clear enough to be recognized and sung along with at pile-ons during shows.

This is a band that is under the radar, but is very talented and enjoyable. Dripping Slits remind me of She Rides, but even a little dirtier. This is attitude in its Sunday best.
