In a time of bands playing false "homage" to artists that inspired them, Sister Sin seem to have a sense of sincerity about the style of music that they play. Switchblade Symphonies shows a band that has studied their 80s rock and metal, and they've nailed the sound. The guitars are crunchy, usually cuffing along to make for better headbanging moments, the drums keep things mid tempo, and the choruses (which everything seems to be building towards) all have sing along qualities (helped out with group vocals).
Their wild card comes in the form of vocalist, Liv, who has a good voice for the style of music that they play. Her voice is gruffly feminine, a singer with a lot of power in her throat. She is easily the centerpiece of this band, making them sound interesting even when the music is a little on the bland or predictable side.
This is an out of left field signing for Victory, which I commend them for. People don't usually look to this label for a throwback to 80s metal. There is a built in fan base for Sister Sin, which shouldn't be all that difficult for them to find.
