With a name like The Burritos and cover art that looked like a picture from a family vacation, I was preparing for the worst. I was expecting some pretentious jam rock that would have my ears prying themselves from my body. Instead, my ears were treated to some laid back alt country; some very relaxing and well thought out music.
The Burritos don't rock, per se. They groove. This is a band in no rush what-so-ever. I picture these guys on stage lost in the music, blowing the minds of those in attendance. Their ballads brings memories of what a Southern sock hop might sound like. There's always something to draw me in.
Its hard not to think of bands like Wilco, Old 97s or Son Volt mixed with some older rock and roll ballads of the day. The Burritos aren't in your face, instead, being the background noise that everyone eventually notices.
