Star Fucking Hipsters-Until We're Dead
Fat
September 30, 2008

Mixing time between crushing punk, crust, hardcore, ska and lighter moments, Star Fucking Hipsters bring a sound to music that hasn't been really been heard since Leftover Crack, and they do it convincingly well. Sturg's voice is as strong as ever, and he gets the benefits of switching off with Nico De Gaillo, making for a nice male/female vocal combination.

Musically, they put it all on the line. The tempos vary, mixing the album up very nicely, and done in a smooth way. It doesn't sound awkward with the switching of speeds (and styles, especially when they throw in the ska parts), and makes for a better all around album. The songs, no matter what style they tend to be playing, are all catchy. These songs get themselves enlarged in the pleasure spot of your brain, and the vocal lines are a lot of fun to sing along to.

People who know of Sturg's other bands will likely enjoy Star Fucking Hipsters. These guys are hard hitting and a flat out good time to listen to. They bring a hell of a lot of melody and add it to a piss and vinegar cocktail.
