The Melvins-Sugar Daddy Live

Live albums are usually hit or miss. I'm not sure which side of the fence I fall on with Sugar Daddy Live. I'm a casual fan of The Melvins. I respect them great for both their chops and the impact they've had on rock music, but I don't listen to them a ton. This album seems to be made for the diehard fans that want to experience live Melvins whenever they want. The Melvins put on a great show, making me feel like I'm there.

The CD is decent. I can picture the band playing to the crowd in my head, but its only a tease because I want to see it. I mostly want to see how the duel drummers play off of each other. This is a release that needs to be seen more than heard. Its still worth it for fans that can't get enough of The Melvins. Casual fans of aspiring drummers, start a letter campaign for a DVD release.
