Tim Barry-Manchester
Suburban Home
November 4, 2008
Less than two years after releasing Riviana Junction, Tim Barry is back with his most powerful work to date in Manchester. Barry bangs out 12 songs that are full of heart and soul, while some of them even have the ability to get the listener moving, taking his songs in a more rhythm and blues direction. This is an emotional album, especially in the tearjerker, "Ronnie Song," but Barry doesn't overdo it. His ability to throw in so many different feelings with either his voice, the instrumentation or the tempo of the songs is quite impressive. His voice itself also has a lot to do with the mood of the song, and he gets the most out of every word.
Barry struck gold with Manchester. The sincerity is at an all time high and the gauntlet of emotions he takes the listener through is amazing. Sing along, cry, dance; Manchester can make you do all of that and then some.
