I'm very impressed with the way these guys manage to sound melodic, heavy and epic at the same time. There is a happy aggression that is sewn throughout this album, with both ends of the spectrum battling it out against each other like a couple of old warriors.
While those two aspects are clashing, Trail od Dead have so much depth to each song, everything building up to a greater good, an ultimate climax. They pretty much take their time with this process, which may seem to be a bit pretentious, but everything is planned so carefully that any other arrangement (even taking a note away) wouldn't work as well.
This is a band of musical talent, especially in the drumming department, of which I'm especially fond of. Everything clicks like a universal remote control, as they have again succeeded with a great piece of art.
