I was disappointed when I heard that drummer Mike Justian was no longer in the band, as he has been one of my favorite drummers for awhile, but Unearth seem to trudge through without losing a whole lot. The drumming is still creative, but his ousting seemed to have forced the guitarists to kick it up a few notches, which they did seemingly without effort.
Unearth haven't changed much, again proving that they are one of the best metalcore bands out there. They are one of the pioneers of the genre, and they never seem to run out of ideas, able to keep a fresh sound album after album. The March does slow things down a bit, which is kind of a bummer, but I'm usually too wrapped up in the guitar work to really let that get to me.
Start to finish, this is a great metalcore album. Unearth know what they're doing on all levels, and The March will rip the listener's face off.
