Unholy-New Life Behind Closed Eyes
Prosthetic
May 12, 2009

I can say with a clear conscous that Unholy have mastered the art of the breakdown. They are all over the place on this album, and each one makes me want to punch the last one in the face. As much as I like my metal bands to be fast, its the slower parts Unholy create that I tend to enjoy the most. There is a lot of creativity when they take the time to slow things down (which is often) and write some brutal riffs.

On the surface, Unholy could lumped in with what could be considered tough guy/metalcore groups like Hatebreed, Throwdown or Terror, but their riffs are a little more harsh and feature a lot more drumming. The breakdowns aren't as prevalent, instead being carefully placed at the right moments to take the listener by surprise and get them that much more pumped.
