United Nations
Eyeball
September 9, 2008

I've always had a soft spot for spastic hardcore bands, something United Nations pull off pretty well, while adding their own flair (the saxophone ending to "Say Goodbye to General Figment of the USS Imagination" is pretty inventive). Their use of singing and screaming done over heavy guitars and spazzy drums bring to mind labels like Level Plane, Alone and Gravity, but done with 2008 in mind. The flow is a little smoother and everything is tighter, full of fist pounding parts that will no doubt get the blood boiling. Fans of punk, hardcore and original screamo will have a blast listening to this album. There are a lot of enjoyable moments on here, an album played by musicians who have mastered their craft.
