5. Ignite-Our Darkest Days: I've been waiting six years for this to be released, and it didn't disappoint me in the slightest. Zoli Teglas' voice is as outstanding as ever, as Ignite reminds everyone why they are still at the top of the melodic hardcore heap. (Abacus)
4. Old Crow Medicine Show-Big Iron World: I first became interested in these guys because of their cover of "Wagon Wheel." Big Iron World absolutely blew me away with their ability to get me happy enough to dance or sad enough to want to weep. Their take on folk/country/bluegrass is damn good, which explains their surge in popularity. (Nettwerk)
3. Hank III-Straight to Hell: There's nothing on here not to like about Hank III. He brings the country rebel spirit to the spotlight and isn't afraid to call people out. This album can appeal to everyone from the crustiest punks to the people who grew up listening to his grandfather way back when. (Bruc)
2. Bouncing Souls-The Gold Album: This is the feel good album of the year. Listening to it is like having a warming, golden feeling rush throughout your body like a smiling train. This came at a time when I needed it most, and I will always be greatful. (Epitaph)
1. Lucero-Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers: Up until about a week ago, this was my number two or three album of the year, but the fact that I couldn't stop listening to it put it in the top spot. Lucero are a little more rock and roll on this album, but there is still the whiskey soaked honesty and sincerity flying out of the speakers at every second. (East West/Liberty and Lament)
