Hancock
Directed by: Peter Berg
Screenplay by: Vincent Ngo, Vince Gilligan

The cool thing about this film is that the hero has to reinvent himself from bad to good. He's somewhat hated by the city of Los Angeles due to his destruction and flat out being an asshole. He's a vigilante criminal that can fly and doesn't get hurt.

He reinvents himself with the help of ?, who talks him into turning himself in and teaches him how to be civilized. It takes awhile, but he eventually turns it around, saves the city, fights a bad guy, blah blah blah.

For the most part, this is the tale of one man's battle against his own demons. The other, action hero styled parts seem forced and unnecessary. They do spice up what would be a boring coming of age story, but it seemed thrown in there because it had to. I didn't quite care about the fight plot, and I wasn't too thrilled about the other stuff. I'm not quite sure how it kept my attention, but it somehow did. This isn't a bad film, but one that could have used some retooling along the way.
