Protest the Hero

Protest the Hero have been able to turn more than a few heads with their mixture of technical melodic punk and metal. They have been on some great tours and are about to embark on another one with Trivium and The Sword. This Email interview with vocalist Rody Walker is a pretty quick yet enjoyable read that shouldn't take much more than a minute, leaving you with ample time to do other things.

PL: State something interesting about yourself.
RW: I can smoke two packs of cigarettes in one day.

PL: How important are lyrics to a song?
RW: Lyrics are important because that's a large part of a band's integrity. If there's no sincere meaning there's no sincere purpose.

PL: How has music changed since Protest the Hero has become a band?
RW: We were once a scummy punk band and now we're a scummy... metalish band. We've made a lot of changes and a lot of progresion.

PL: Should a band try and "evolve with the times" in current music?
RW: I think a band sould always be attempting o improve themselves whether or not the style they derive from such coincides with popular music or not.

PL: Has Keiza lived up to expectations so far?
RW: So far it has more than lived up to it's expectations, keeping in mind that we had no idea what to expect from it.

PL: Whats one movie everyone should see?
RW: "High School Musical."

PL: Whats a little known fact about Ontario?
RW: A place called Balls Falls exsists within it.

PL: Name one album, besides your own, that you think all kids should have in their collection.
RW: The rings of niblung - wagner .....HA!

PL: Anything else you'd like to say
RW: Usually I'm quicker with this question, but I am drawing a blank and I'm sorry... now only if my father was drawing blanks and I could be prevented this would be a lot easier.
