This makes three weeks in a row with a potential Album of the Year as Album of the Week. Lucero's major label debut is an adventurous one, which is even more impressive considering how unsafe they played it. Instead of sticking to Americana punk country roots music, they added a horn section and went absolutely nuts, writing an album worthy of a throwback to the 50s or 60s dance party, with the above mentioned styles included. They thought outside the box, even for them, and created the most ambitious album of their careers.
