Arctic Monkeys-I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor
Domino Records
March 14, 2006

I've wanted to check this band out for awhile, as I've heard nothing but good things about them. For some reason, I never ended up purchasing Whatever You Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, and I had my eye on this 10" single for "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" for a few months before I actually bought it.

This album is full of the dance punk that has been uber popular as of late, except Arctic Monkeys do it better than most of their peers. The three songs (one being an instrumental that is pretty rocking, reminding me of something the Beastie Boys would do) on here are great, and have my feet tapping the whole time. The Clash is definitely an influence on this band, but they also throw a modern alternative feel, making for a pretty cool sound.

"I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor" is an amazing song that takes up Side A (a 10" 45 RPM record is some cool shit); a song that I'm sure will be getting a lot of spins on my record player.
