Yes. Yes. Yes. Fast, melodic punk rock with speedy drums and some gang vocals. This genre is on the endangered species list, but my heart perks up every time I hear a band play this style, even more so when they play it well, which Protagonist does.
I love the galloping drums, which they use just the right amount. They mix the tempos up to prevent everything from sounding like one long song. The guitar leads play well off the vocals, always giving the listener a focal point. The breakdown parts are good, making way for a wave of fist pumps, and there's always something that makes you want to sing along.
